ABOUT:

ProSciTech is a specialist agency for light and electron microscopy, microprobe and histology supplies and numerous scientific instruments. We supply laboratories in Australasia and world-wide. ProSciTech was founded in 1979.

AIM:

It is our aim to supply promptly a wide range of appropriate, especially microscopy related, quality goods, at a moderate price. We constantly review our range of products to meet most of your requirements. Our customers have suggested many of the new items in this catalogue. Your comments and recommendations are welcome.

PRICES AND TERMS:

ProSciTech endeavours to be a competitive supplier and we excel in many product lines. Note that all prices are in Australian dollars. Check Current rates for a current conversion to your currency. Australian orders are charged GST, note our prices shown are GST exclusive. (GST is 10%, but businesses reclaim this tax.)
There is a freight and handling fee on small orders, see shipping. Terms are net 30 days on invoiced accounts. Public institutions and large companies will be invoiced. If the cost of any order exceeds your indicated total price by 10%, we will seek your consent prior to shipping.

Medium and small orders from overseas are best paid for by credit card. We accept payment by Mastercard & Visa and their related charge cards. Please ensure that your phone or written order includes card-holder's name, correct number and expiry date. You can make the payment yourself on our bank's secure system, but you need an invoice or reference number. For this, email us with your requirements. If you are not an established customer and you place an order without credit card details, we will send you an invoice with payment options. Shipment will be made on receipt of your payment.

In our quotations and in our online catalogue we endeavour to provide accurate descriptions, illustrations, prices and stock availability, but errors and omissions are excepted.

SHIPPING INFORMATION:

If goods are in stock we will endeavour to ship your order within 24 hours. Back-ordered items will be sent as soon as they become available. Means of transport is chosen considering value of parcel, weight and perishability of contents. Low value or heavy goods may attract a fee if courier service is required. Orders below $200 (value of goods only), to Australian and New Zealand destinations are subject to a $12 shipping/handling charge. Our choice of shipper applies, for small orders we cannot deal with requests for other shippers and forgo the $12.00 shipping charge. Larger orders (to OZ & NZ) are shipped freight free, except we reserve the right to charge for freight to NZ on small but heavy orders. (e.g. Benchroll or microscope slides.) Overseas orders (not to NZ) valued below A$200 are charged a minimum of A$26 for shipping and handling; if shipping charges are greater than A$26 then the shipping charge will be billed to you at cost. Overseas orders (not to NZ) valued above A$200 will attract the shipping charge only, billed to you at cost. Where an overseas customer chooses to use their own freight company at their expense, there will be an A$10 handling fee charged.

DANGEROUS GOODS shipped within Australia: are usually shipped by road and a $50 surcharge applies to many items (quantity dependent). Class 6 Dangerous Goods (e.g. C010, C020, C0205, C073, C0144, C151, C661) attract a surcharge of $75. Within Australia we automatically ship by road transport. Please specify when ordering if you require air service. Cost to be advised. Shipping charges will be added to the invoice; If you prefer you can use your own account with your freight company.

DANGEROUS GOODS shipped to all non-Australian destinations: Dangerous goods to overseas destinations will be airfreighted and the freight charge billed to you at cost. Typically, this will be about $A500.00 to New Zealand and about A$700.00 to Europe or USA; this is for up to 4kg, including the A$75 Dangerous Goods Fee. Consolidating an annual order or combining a dangerous goods shipment with another laboratory is cost-effective.

Dangerous goods in excepted quantities: Some chemicals can be shipped overseas in Excepted Quantities. This rule allows up to 500mL or grams, but packed in 30mL/g lots. However, it is not viable to ship 500g quantities further dispensed into 30g quantities. Hence this rule is only useful for a few items, for instance BDMA, which is normally shipped in 100mL quantities but is also available as 4x25mL for overseas customers. When shipping DGs in Excepted Quantities, the saving is only the dangerous goods fee, which is currently A$75. We would still need to charge for airfreight.

If you think that shipping 25g of lead nitrate or 1g of OsO4 is not dangerous when compared with a tank full of petrol and 10kg of lead and some sulphuric acid which are already contained in the vehicle's battery - you are right. However, we do not make the rules or set those usurious fees. It is greedy companies and inept governments who make commerce of many goods very expensive without demonstrably improving safety.

Application of DG fees to air and road freight

We ship by the best means and charge the absolute minimum in additional freight. Please enquire prior to placing relatively heavy (or bulky), low value overseas orders.
Please inquire when in doubt.

Ask for equipment prices; we will quote FIS. A few items have a freight surcharge to overseas destinations indicated.

GUARANTEE:

All products and supplies in this catalogue are guaranteed as advertised. Defective products should be returned to us for replacement or credit. Always contact us prior to returning goods.

LIABILITY

All products are intended for laboratory applications only and the user assumes all responsibility involved in use and handling. We accept no liability for loss or damage resulting from the use or abuse of our products.

RETURN OF GOODS AND RE-STOCKING CHARGE

Please ask prior to returning any goods. A 15% re-stocking charge will be levied on materials returned because of error on the part of the customer. Note this is minimal since we generally paid for shipping these goods. This charge will be deducted from the credit note or added to the replacement invoice, whichever is applicable.
Please note that we usually cannot accept the return of special order items - those not given a number in our catalogue, or those that are only ordered an request.
