BRITISH BIOCELL GOLD CONJUGATES for Electron Microscopy
Gold conjugates for electron microscopy (EM) may be used for the localisation of antigens in tissues, cells, or in situ hybridization. The EM grade gold conjugates are highly concentrated and available in many particle sizes. EM gold conjugates have a narrow particle size range and tend not to form clusters. EM and 1nm gold conjugates may be silver-enhanced (amplified) for better viewing efficiency by either light microscopy or electron microscopy. Protocols and literature references are provided with each product and they are also available on request. These gold conjugates have the highest concentration of active protein available in any such commercial products and they have exceptional stability in long term storage.

Abbreviations and explanations
OD - Optical Density which is expressed as a measurement of 50. 50 OD is the minimum one can buy. 50 OD equals 5mL at a concentration of 10 OD.
HSP - Human Serum Proteins
HMP - Human Mouse Proteins
(H+L) - binds with heavy and light chain of primary antibody
(H) - binds with heavy chain only of primary antibody
(AH) - conjugate absorbed against human serum proteins
(RSP) - conjugate absorbed against rat serum proteins
(MA) - conjugate absorbed against mouse serum proteins
F(ab’)2 - conjugate contains both Fab subunits (no Fc subunit) of the antibody

GOLD CONJUGATES for Light Microscopy
The appropriate light microscopy grade (LM or 1NM) gold conjugates may be chosen for either direct or indirect staining of antigens in tissue sections, cell suspensions, cell smears/imprints, or by in situ hybridization. LM grade or 1NM gold conjugates must be silver-enhanced (amplified) for visualization by light microscopy. Protocols (GOLDMARK Bulletins) and literature references (GOLDMARK Briefs) are provided with each product and/or are available on request. These gold conjugates have the highest concentration of active protein available in any such commercial products and they have exceptional stability in long term storage.

SILVER ENHANCEMENT REAGENTS
Silver enhancement reagents may be used to amplify the gold signal. They consist of two liquid components, an "initiator" and "enhancer", which, when mixed, reduce silver ion to silver metal. The metallic silver deposits on gold particles enlarging them for better microscopic visibility. These reagents are characterized by a rapid development time (5-20 minutes) and are stable under ambient light. They have a long shelf life (12 mo.) when stored at 4C or -20C.

THESE PRODUCTS SHOULD BE STORED AT 4°C to 8°C. DO NOT FREEZE.
