How to find an item in the catalogue

The catalogue is divided into 20 sections (chapters), each is identified with a letter. Sometimes the letter relates to the items in that section, e.g. C for Chemicals, E for Equipment, O for Optical devices, but this is not always possible. The catalogue number of all items starts with the corresponding section letter. Each section contains several pages. The first one is the Index page, listing all catalogue numbers in that section, followed by the section's content pages, numbered e.g. G1, G2 etc. (for the G section). Within each section you can select pages by clicking on them at top right hand side of window.

1. If you know the catalogue number
  • a) Type it into 'search'. This will find the item.
  • b) Click it on the section index page. E.g. for G300, hover over contents menu, then section G: Microscope slides, grids, mounts; then click G: Catalogue Number Index.

    2. Type a keyword into 'search'. This finds items but not subitems. Most subitems are the same as the main item but a different size or colour so clicking on the main item will find the subitem. Some subitems are accessories of the main item or related but with a different name, they will not be found by 'search'.

    3. Contents Menu. Hover over 'contents menu', go to a suitable section and read the page content. The page field is not big enough to list every single item, just click on a page that contains related items.

    4. Alphabetic Index. This lists individual items and/or groups. E.g. vacuum related items are listed under the group heading 'Vacuum', but also individually, unless the first word of the name is 'Vacuum'. Some items of which we have a large variety, are listed under a general term like 'slide boxes' or 'slide storage'. The main aim of the index is to get you to the right page.

Most items can be ordered and paid for via the catalogue, using the shopping cart. Prices and stock availability are always current. Orders over $200 from outside Australia and New Zealand require a quote because we have to calculate freight. See ordering info on home page.
